Capturing Moments in Time - Travel Photography
Travel has always been one of my greatest sources of creative inspiration, and this collection captures the moments that truly caught my eye during what I can only describe as the trip of a lifetime.
In 2011, my wife, daughter, and mum joined me on an unforgettable eight-week journey overseas. Together, we explored Los Angeles, New York, Las Vegas, Rome, Molfetta, Venice, Florence, Paris, and the UK. Each destination offering its own unique energy, character, and story.
Rather than chasing postcard-perfect scenes, I focused on instinct. It was about finding the best light, the most compelling compositions, and those spontaneous, fleeting moments. If something resonated with me, I captured it. More than anything, I wanted these prints to reflect not just how these places looked, but how they felt—from warmth and serenity to the buzz of city streets, and the grandeur and depth of history.
All images in this series were shot using a Nikon D3s paired with a 24–70mm lens. This was a versatile combination that allowed me to move seamlessly between wide, sweeping landscapes and more intimate, candid moments.

Left Bank Vespa – Paris
Captured while walking along the River Seine, this moment felt instantly iconic. A Parisian figure seated on a Vespa became the perfect subject, framed by the river, a passing boat, and the timeless backdrop of classic French apartments. It’s a scene that encapsulates the effortless charm of Paris.
Sunset on the Seine – Paris
An unforgettable sunset cast a warm glow across the water. This was paired perfectly with the silhouette of an elegant woman walking along the riverbank. In the distance, Notre Dame stood proudly, serving as both a historic landmark and a reminder of the city’s enduring beauty. This image reminds you of the simpler moments in life, a walk along amongst nature and history, on a warm Parisian night.
Manhattan Bridge – New York City
This image was treated with a cool blue tone to enhance the mood of the New York skyline. The Manhattan Bridge is an awe-inspiring structure, and experiencing it up close reinforced just how dynamic and energetic New York truly is. It’s a city bursting with life and endless photographic opportunity. This is a brilliant print for any contemporary home - a perfect addition to add some New York flare.
Flatiron Building – New York City
The unique shape and presence of the Flatiron Building is something that stops you in your tracks. A subtle green tone was added to emphasise its character. Nearby, Madison Square Park and the vibrant dining scene, including a memorable visit to Eataly, a fantastic Italian marketplace of homemade goods. This made this area an unforgettable part of the journey.
A Tour of Venice – Italy
Venice feels like a living painting. Capturing a gondolier navigating the canals was a highlight in a city defined by its Renaissance and Gothic architecture. Every corner offered a new perspective, rich with history and atmosphere.
Colosseum – Rome
Standing before the Colosseum is an experience that’s hard to put into words. This panoramic image was stitched together in post-production and finished with a bleached black-and-white tone, evoking the feeling of stepping back nearly 2,000 years into ancient Rome.
Bambino – Amalfi Coast
A quiet, authentic moment along the Amalfi Coast, one of the most breathtaking places in the world. Nothing beat an early morning stroll and cappuccino while walking overlooking this magnificent coastline - it brought me back to my heritage. This image felt iconic, a symbol of life in Italy.
Buckingham Palace – London
An iconic symbol of British history and royalty, captured at sunset. The grandeur of Buckingham Palace is undeniable.
In the 70s – England
A nostalgic glimpse of England, featuring a classic 1970s car parked in front of a historic township building. This image brings together heritage, character, and a timeless sense of place.
